Vikes, Vals in title games in 7B tourney play

BIGFORK — Logan Gilliard and Beau Santistevan both tallied 12 points and Anders Epperly followed with 11 as Bigfork whipped Troy 68-21 in District 7B semifinal boys basketball tournament action Thursday evening.

Bigfork jumped in front 20-5 and 38-14 after the first two quarter stops.

Eleven different players figured in the scoring for Bigfork.

Dillon Savage accounted for the bulk of Troy’s offense. He finished with 13 points.

Bigfork moves on to the championship game Saturday at 5 p.m. in Eureka versus Thompson Falls.

Troy drops into the third/fourth place game the same day at 1 p.m. against Libby.

All four teams advance to the Western B divisional at Ronan next week.

LIBBY — Thompson Falls outscored Libby 18-10 in the final quarter to rally for the semifinal victory.

Libby held a 31-25 advantage after three periods.

Ryggs Johnston tallied a game-high 25 points. The Libby sophomore had five 3s and was 4 of 5 from the free-throw line.

McKenzie Holt scored 12 points for Thompson Falls.

LIBBY — Balanced scoring coupled with a dynamite fourth quarter lifted Bigfork over Libby in semifinal play.

Bigfork, up 31-30 after three quarters of play, put the game away in the final eight minutes. The Valkyries outscored Libby over that stretch 21-10.

Shae Anderson, Ellie Berreth and Jaime Berg shared scoring honors for Bigfork with 13 points each. Berg collected 11 of her points in the final frame.

Bigfork was 8 of 12 shooting from the charity line in the fourth quarter.

Shannon Reny and Abby Ennenga had nine points each to pace Libby.

Bigfork plays in the 7B championship game versus Troy on Saturday at 7 p.m. in Eureka.

Libby drops into the 7B third/fourth place game at 3 p.m. versus Eureka.

All four teams advance to the Western B divisional at Ronan next week.

TROY — Troy doubled the score on Eureka in the opening quarter and padded its lead from there as the Trojans posted an easy semifinal victory.

Troy led 22-14 at the half and 36-16 going into the fourth quarter.

Allie Coldwell topped Troy, and all scorers, with 22 points.

Aurora Becquart chipped in 13.

Sienna Utter netted 11 for Eureka.
