UM traveling exhibit 'Motion' coming to Lakeside
Children and families can explore the world of physics at the University of Montana’s traveling “Motion” exhibit. On Feb. 23 and 24, the Lakeside Elementary gym will be transformed into an interactive science museum, featuring hands-on exhibits and activities that explore physics and engineering.
Participants will be able to watch Kepler’s Laws of planetary motion by dropping coins in a gravity well, investigate inertia at a spin station, and climb inside a flight simulator.
Lakeside students will experience “Motion” during the school day while the exhibition is in town. The public is invited to attend a free Family Science Night from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 23.
“Motion,” is an exhibit of the university’s spectrUM Discovery Area. Somers-Lakeside PTA funded the Lakeside tour stop.
