Man denies rape charges

A man from Flathead County has denied charges that he raped a 17-year-old girl while she was asleep.

Augustus Prince, 23, pleaded not guilty to sexual intercourse without consent in front of Judge Robert Allison in Flathead District Court on Feb. 16.

According to court documents, the alleged victim said she fell asleep in a house where Prince was present, and woke up later with pain from Prince penetrating her.

Court reports state that Prince initially admitted to digitally penetrating the woman when he thought she was sleeping.

Prince is scheduled for a jury trial to begin on May 30. If convicted, he could face up to 100 years in prison.
