The state highway department is proposing to resurface an 11-mile stretch of the Swan Highway in 2019.

The Montana Department of Transportation work would begin on Highway 83 north of Lion Creek in Lake County and extend north to where the highway leaves the Flathead National Forest at mile-marker post 65.2.

The highway department is also proposing to resurface 10 miles of Highway 28 north of Lonepine in Sanders, Lake and Flathead counties. The project begins about 0.7 miles north of Lonepine Road and ends just beyond Browns Meadow Road. The project lies entirely within the Flathead Reservation.

Both projects are tentatively scheduled for construction in 2019. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
