Portrait artist offering spring classes

| February 23, 2017 4:00 AM

Diana Neville Knowles is planning her 2017 spring portraiture workshops in the Flathead Valley.

Knowles, an accomplished artist, has completed more than 20,000 portraits in pure-pigment pastel crayon, oil and watercolor. Her portrait of former first lady Patricia Nixon hangs in the Presidents’ Wives collection at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington.

The Bigfork resident has been teaching since 1977 and will offer workshops in Bigfork, Kalispell, Lakeside and Polson, beginning in March. Students in the classes will complete a 16-inch by 20-inch pastel crayon portrait over the course of four days, with each session running from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. including a one-hour lunch break.

For more information or to sign up, contact Knowles at (406) 871-2770. A deposit is required to reserve a spot in the classes.
