Blacktail road construction review finalized
The Flathead National Forest announced this week it has finalized its environmental review of a restoration and stabilization project on 10 miles of Blacktail Road.
The road serves as the primary access to Forest Service lands in the Blacktail Mountain area and provides access to Blacktail Mountain Ski Area, motorized and non-motorized trail systems, the Blacktail Mountain Nordic Cross-Country Ski Trail System and other recreation al activities.
Project activities include paving a standard two-lane road from the end of the county road to the Blacktail Ski Area boundary, stabilizing and re-vegetating several slopes along the road, improving road drainage and replacing two stream crossings.
