Logger boys, girls sweep Lions on hardwood

EUREKA — Ryggs Johnston tallied 21 points and Libby held Eureka to single-digit scoring in all four quarters en route to a 60-20 District 7B boys basketball victory on Tuesday evening.

Libby (3-1 7B, 4-3 overall) rolled out to a 13-8 edge and put the game out of reach by outscoring Eureka 18-2 in the second quarter for a 31-10 advantage at the half.

Brad Stein topped Eureka (0-2, 1-5) in scoring with seven points.

“It was a tough night,” Eureka coach Seth Braach said.

“Libby played very well, shot well on the outside.”

Libby hosts Columbia Falls on Friday while Eureka is back in action Saturday at home versus Thompson Falls.

RONAN — Zeke Misa led a balance Ronan attack with 13 points as the Chiefs topped Deer Lodge in a District 6B contest.

Josh Stewart tallied 11 points for the Chiefs (2-1 6B, 5-3 overall) and Aaron Misa added 10.

Brandon Porter scored a game-high 16 points for Deer Lodge (2-2, 3-4).

EUREKA — Shannon Reny knocked down 22 points to push Libby past Eureka in a District 7B matchup.

Libby (3-1 7B, 3-3 overall) held a 27-19 advantage at the half and put the game away with an 18-point third quarter.

Ashlyn Waldo tallied nine points to pace Eureka (0-2, 2-4).

DEER LODGE — Ronan outscored Deer Lodge 10-7 in overtime to claim the District 6B victory in a matchup of undefeated conference teams.

Lee Camel tossed in 18 points and Louetta Conko-Camel added 14 for Ronan (3-0 7B, 8-0 overall).

Josee Applegate had 12 points for Deer Lodge, which lost its first game in conference. Darcy Walker and Kamryn Scully each added 11 points for the Wardens.

Deer Lodge (3-1, 4-3) rallied in the fourth quarter to force the extra session, outscoring Ronan 18-11.

The Maidens moved into first place in the conference with the victory.
