Cats roll by Polson

POLSON — Winfield West (120 pounds), Ayden Role (126), Braydon Stone (145), Ben Windauer (152), Jason Fetters (160), Colton McPhee (170) and Kyler Koski (285) all won by pin to push Columbia Falls past Polson 48-22 in a Class A Northwest Conference wrestling dual on Thursday evening.

Fetters had the quickest fall, 30 seconds.

Role, Stone, Windauer and McPhee also had first-period pins.

West and Koski stuck their foes in the second period.

Hunter Peterson (132) and Jakob Freeman (182) posted decisions for the MatCats.

Polson picked up 18 points on three forfeits while Parker Adler (138) won by major decision.

Columbia Falls and Polson will compete in the Jug Beck Rocky Mountain Classic today and Saturday.

FRENCHTOWN — Frenchtown picked up nearly half its points — 30— on forfeits, added 30 on five pins as the Broncs cruised to a Class A Northwest Conference dual win.

Whitefish’s points came on a Frenchtown forfeit at 205.

Whitefish came close to picking up another three team points at 160, where Malik Heydon dropped a tough 6-5 decision to Michael Edwards.

Against Lake City, Idaho, Dakota Flannery (132) and Travis Catina (205) had pins for Whitefish.

Whitefish will compete in the River City Duals in Post Falls, Idaho, today and Saturday.
