Dad upset that officer spoke with daughter

Whitefish Police fielded a complaint from a father who was upset that an officer might have been rude to his daughter.

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office took a report from a woman on Poplar Drive outside of Kalispell reported that some teenagers had been running through her yard and hiding behind a building. The woman offered up surveillance video, but it was determined that no crime had been committed.

A set of tires was reported missing from Trumble Creek Road.

Kalispell Police officers recovered a missing vehicle after its owner reported it had been taken after being left running to warm up on First Avenue East.

Police advised a man not to give out his personal or financial information online after the man called to report his computer may have a virus.

A woman told police her house was allegedly broken into by a person she knew. She said the man who she thought may have broken into her home told her “people will pay” though she said he didn’t make any statements directed at her.

A woman told officers her purse was stolen out of her shopping cart.

Officers took a statement from a person who said a .22-caliber rifle was allegedly stolen from a vehicle. Their car, parked on Husky Street, had its passenger side window broken.

A person told police there was a vehicle stopped in the middle of an intersection with its driver “slumped over.” The caller said other vehicles were going around the vehicle without stopping to check on the man.

Columbia Falls Police notified a rail company of an alleged runaway train car. A witness told officers he saw what appeared to be an engineless train car loaded with lumber that almost hit another vehicle as it sped past before the cross arms could signal to drivers it was coming.

A woman said her purse had been stolen out of her vehicle on Eighth Street West and her credit cards were being used by the alleged thief.

Officers dispatched a towing company to rescue a child locked in a vehicle that was not running.
