Caller concerned about loose logs

A driver on Spokane Avenue called the Whitefish Police Department to report a logging truck was losing some logs off the back of the load while driving. Officers were unable to locate the truck.

Police took two different calls from people concerned about possible drug activity on Colorado Avenue.

A Baker Avenue resident called police because she thought she heard gunshots nearby.

A U.S. 93 South business owner in Kalispell called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report that his shop had been broken into and some chainsaws had been stolen sometime overnight.

Several people with storage units on U.S. 2 East in Coram reported their units had been burglarized. A woman with a storage unit on Welf Lane in Kalispell reported that her unit had been broken into as well. Deputies were investigating, but it was unknown if the incidents were related.

An Antelope Trail resident complained about some barking dogs in the neighborhood.

A caller on U.S. 2 West near Columbia Falls alerted deputies that a bull was loose and running around near the highway.

A Second Avenue South resident in Hungry Horse told deputies that some items had been stolen from his or her garage.

Deputies retrieved a pallet from the roadway on Mission Street in Kalispell.

An East Reserve Drive resident in Kalispell was concerned because her neighbors had “taken over her mailbox” and she was no longer receiving her mail. Deputies talked to the neighbors, who said a snow plow had taken down their mailbox recently. They said they put their mail on hold with the Post Office until they could get a new box, but apparently their mail was still being placed in the wrong box by mistake. Both parties were advised to talk to the Postal Service to resolve the issue.

A Hare Trail resident in Whitefish called about several loud “bangs” coming from the south. The caller thought it could be fireworks.

Two different Swan Hill Drive residents in Bigfork called deputies to report a group of horses walking around on the road.

An employee at a business on Lake Blaine Road in Kalispell called for help when a man was allegedly banging on the locked door of the business for an extended amount of time. The caller was alone in the building and didn’t know the man, and was afraid to go near the door. Responding deputies discovered that the man had locked himself out of his vehicle in the parking lot and was waiting for a ride to come pick him up.
