Man protects boat found in the road

A man called the Columbia Falls Police Department to report that some type of small boat was in the middle of the road. The caller remained on scene with his flashers on until the owner of the boat returned to retrieve it.

A woman said she called a local tow service and the person she spoke with was very rude and refused to help her.

A man reported that he had put money in a soda machine outside the library and no soda was dispensed.

The Whitefish Police Department received a call that a group of people were allegedly fighting in the parking lot behind a bar downtown. The caller reported that one man was yelling that he had a gun, and that he was “going crazy” and “knocking people over.” Officers arrived on scene, one man required medical attention for cuts on his face and another man was arrested and his vehicle was impounded.

Someone at a local bar reported that another woman was allegedly sending people over to ask her to leave. An officer spoke with both women, the issue was resolved and one of the parties left for the night.

Someone found a woman lying on the sidewalk in front of a bar downtown. The woman was unable to state her name or where she lived. An officer arrived on scene and gave the woman a ride home.

A caller reported that a deer was lying in the middle of the road near a bridge. An officer arrived on scene where the deer was up and moving and no longer required assistance.

A woman reported that she had recently been burglarized. She wanted to know if she should leave her outside lights on. An officer was dispatched and her questions were answered.

A man with a possible concussion required medical attention after he was allegedly assaulted. The man’s mother called with concerns and was advised to have her son go to the police station after his injuries were treated to fill out a written statement.
