ImagineIF Library Foundation hires new executive director

The ImagineIF Library Foundation recently hired a new executive director and appointed five new members to its 2017 board of trustees.

Charlotte Housel is the new executive director for the organization. A recent transplant to the Flathead Valley from Brooklyn, New York, she spent 10 years as a strategist with advertising agencies DDB NY and McGarryBowen, where her clients included sports and educational nonprofits.

Joining the board of trustees are Laura Bean, M.B. Bertram, B.J Grieve, Adele Murphy and Marilyn Siess.

Bean and her husband own an organic cherry orchard on the east side of Flathead Lake. She has lived in Montana for five years and holds three master’s degrees.

Bertram has lived in the Flathead Valley for more than 10 years. She works as an accounting specialist at Glacier Bank and holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in theater/costume design and technology.

Grieve spent 12 years with the Flathead County Planning office and now works as a senior planner for WGM Group. He has lived in the Flathead Valley for 14 years.

Murphy joins the board as the Friends of the Library representative, a group of which she has long been an integral member. She is a native Montanan and retired primary school teacher.

Siess retired after 30 years as a language arts instructor in Billings and Kalispell. She is a graduate of Montana State University-Billings.

The new Executive Committee board officers are Carla Fisher, president; Roy Beekman, vice president; Carol Santa, secretary; and Cathy Meredith, treasurer.
