| January 24, 2017 8:00 PM

Erhardt “Curly” Weidner, 82, passed away in Kalispell on Jan. 21, 2017. Curly has fought cancer since 2002.

Curly was born on Dec. 9, 1934, to Jacob and Linda Weidner in Beulah, North Dakota. Curly was raised on the family farm, leaving school in the ninth grade to help the family. At the age of 18 he went to work at the Garrison Dam, working for them for two years, and then he moved to Scobey, Montana; he then moved to Kalispell and ran the Gulf Station, moving on to work for City Service for the next 44 years as a mechanic, and as an electrician and gas pump repair for Northwest Fuel as well. He was the security supervisor for the Outlaw Inn for 33 years.

Curly married Sharon Amundson on Jan. 9, 1982. He and Sharon were able to have a six-week honeymoon traveling to different parts of the country and spending time in Cancun, Mexico.

Curly was a member of the NRA and Lions Club; he loved to hunt and work. Curly had many friends all over, especially through the Church at Creston — that was his joy after retirement.

Curly is survived by his wife, Sharon; brothers, Hap Weidner and Eldor Weidner; mother-in-law, Isabelles Doughtery; stepson, Brett Cislo; stepdaughter, Dea Cislo; Block, whom he always dearly loved and considered his children; stepgrandchildren, Bryane Cislo, Shayla Block, Chris Block, Shawn Block, Josh Cislo and Jenna Johnson; nine stepgreat-grandchildren, all of whom he loved as his family and never considered them as stepchildren or stepgrandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 to 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 27, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral service at the Church at Creston. A reception will follow services and a graveside committal will be held at Glacier Memorial Gardens.

Buffalo Hill Funeral Home is caring for the family.
