Over a 24-hour period, Lake County law enforcement arrested two men and seized a sizable amount of heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana in two separate incidents.

In the first investigation, Michael Robinson, 38, of California, was arrested after he was allegedly found in possession of 12 grams of heroin after a search warrant was served at a residence where Robinson was staying on Jan. 22, according to a press release from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Robinson is being held on a $20,000 bond in Lake County Jail on charges of possession of drugs with intent to distribute and obstructing a peace officer for allegedly providing a false name when confronted by officers.

The investigation involved cooperation between the Mission Valley Drug Task Force and federal authorities.

In a separate investigation, Leonardo Perez, 18, of Pasco, Washington, was arrested and charged with felony possession of drugs with intent to distribute after law enforcement reportedly recovered 1 pound of methamphetamine and 3/4 of a pound of marijuana from a vehicle Perez was in.

The seizure occurred after a Lake County Sheriff’s deputy encountered a vehicle on Montana 28 that had slid off the road due to poor conditions on the morning of Jan. 23. When the deputy made contact with the occupants of the vehicle, he reportedly observed indications that the men may be involved in interstate drug trafficking. A Montana Highway Patrol K-9 unit was dispatched and resulted in a positive indication that drugs were in the vehicle, according to the press release. A search warrant was executed on the vehicle resulting in the discovery of the methamphetamine and marijuana.
