Woman accused of drunken driving with child in car

A 32-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly being caught driving under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop with a child in the vehicle.

Elizabeth Patricia Reid is facing a felony criminal child endangerment charge according to court documents filed Jan.17 in Flathead District Court.

Around 10 p.m. on Jan. 14, police pulled Reid over because she was allegedly speeding on Main Street in Kalispell, according to court documents. An officer noticed a 12-year-old in the vehicle. Reid allegedly was slurring her speech, had bloodshot, watery eyes and smelled of alcohol.

Reid was asked to take a field sobriety test, according to court documents, and the officer reportedly observed signs of impairment. The officer then asked Reid to provide a breath sample, which she allegedly refused. Reid was arrested for driving under the influence and transported to the Kalispell Police Department where an officer reportedly read Reid the “Montana Implied Consent” advisory and again asked for a breath sample. Again, Reid allegedly refused to provide a sample.

Arraignment is set for 9 a.m. on Feb. 2 at Flathead District Court.
