Joy Ellen Elgin, 77

Joy Ellen Elgin, 77, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, from ovarian cancer, at her home in Kalispell.

Joy was born Dec. 5, 1939, in Canton, Illinois, to Merle and Winnie (Taylor) Elgin. Joy was raised in Canton, graduating from high school in 1957. She then attended Mid State Business College in Peoria, Illinois, in 1958.

Joy worked as a bookkeeper in real estate and for Edward Jones Investments.

In 1958 she married Floyd Glen Miller; they later divorced in 1981. She then married Royce Mikelson in 1988, whom she later divorced in 2016.

Joy enjoyed photography, cooking, travel and Glacier National Park. Her biggest surprise was finding that the stork had dropped her in the wrong place so she moved to Montana in 1986.

Joy is survived by her children, Chris and Tim Miller.

The family request memorial contributions be made to Epworth United Methodist Scholarship Fund.

A celebration of life service will be held March 4 at Epworth United Methodist Church.
