Baseball Lakers AA in title round; Twins take 2 from Loggers

PULLMAN, Wash. — Torin Bowden tripled and drove in three runs and Sam Elliott pitched five strong innings as the Kalispell Lakers topped the Twin City Titans 10-4 on Saturday morning at the Palouse Summer Series American Legion baseball tournament.

Bowden had three of the Lakers’ 11 hits.

Dawson Smith and Patrick O’Connell, 2 for 3, both doubled.

Jonas Nyman also tripled for Kalispell.

Ryan Symmess went 3 for 4.

Spencer Pisk and Nyman had two RBIs each.

Kalispell scored a run in every inning but the sixth. The Lakers opened with three in the first and had a big four-run fourth inning to put the game away.

Elliott allowed five hits. He struck out two and walked three batters.

Kalispell advances to championship action today for the second-straight year.

WHITEFISH — Coby Clark-Dickenson and Tyler Murphy had four RBIs each as the Glacier Twins pulled out a 14-10 victory in the second game of a doubleheader sweep with the Libby Loggers at Memorial Field.

Clark-Dickenson and Murphy both doubled and led the hit parade with three hits each. The Twins totaled 21.

Terek Bistodeau went 4 for 5 and scored twice for Glacier.

Shayne Walker had three hits for Libby and two RBIs.

Braydan Thom, 2 for 4, also drove in two runs.

Thom doubled.

In the opener, an 11-3 win, Dan Seymour, 2 for 3, drove in three runs as did Gunner Marsh.

Murphy went 2 for 3 along with Ryan Veneman, who had two RBIs.

Veneman tripled.

Tim Carvey had two of Libby’s five hits.

Shayne Walker, 1 for 2, had two RBIs.

Skyler Walker pitched five innings for Glacier in the first game. He gave up four hits, walked five and struck out four to get the win.

Glacier has a doubleheader today at the Bitterroot Red Sox, starting at 2 p.m.

Libby hosts Kalispell for a doubleheader on Monday. The first pitch is set for 5 p.m.
