Florida man dies in jet ski accident on Flathead Lake

A Florida man is dead after falling off a jet ski in the Finley Point area of Flathead Lake on Monday evening, authorities report.

According to Lake County Sheriff Don Bell, Robert Paul Trejo, 39, was found unresponsive at around 6:30 p.m. near a jet ski he was riding about 200 yards from shore near his friends.

Trejo’s friends assisted first responders in getting Trejo into a boat where he received CPR for about 15 minutes.

Bell said Trejo initially had a slight pulse and slow breathing but died while en route to the hospital.

Trejo’s body was sent to the Montana State Crime Lab for autopsy. The incident is still under investigation.
