The monthly Whitefish Gallery Night returns tonight from 6 to 9 p.m., with featured art exhibitions, entertainment and refreshments at 11 downtown galleries. All events are free and open to the public and continue on the first Thursday of each month through Oct. 5. More information and a complete listing of supporting galleries is available at www.whitefishgallerynights.org.

Here’s a look at some of this week’s highlights:

THE ECO printing of Kalispell’s Paula Rindal is on display at the Purple Pomegranate (222 Central Ave.).

Rindal’s eco-printed work extracts the natural pigments of a leaf and creates layers of texture and depth. It is a contemporary technique derived from traditional, natural, plant-based dyeing in which plants and leaves are enclosed within textiles, then wrapped tightly around sticks or pipes using twine. When printing on paper, the leaves are stacked between papers and bound together.

THE WALKING Man Frame Shop and Gallery (305 Baker Ave.) is featuring Charity Flowers, a Flathead Valley sculptor who works in ceramics.

Her exhibit, “Origin of Self” will show a variety of mixed-media ceramic pieces for pedestal and wall display.

HELENA CERAMIC artist George McCauley and Whitefish photographer Chuck Haney are showing at Whitefish Pottery and Stillwater Gallery (240 Central Ave.).

McCauley’s signature “Red Neck Majolica” style of glazing will be on display along with Haney’s landscape photographs. The show will run through the month of July.
