Coby Clark-Dickenson had an unusually quiet day at the plate. He more than made up for it on the mound.

Clark-Dickenson, the 16-year-old cleanup hitter for the Glacier Twins A, tossed a four-hit shutout Saturday afternoon to lead his team past the Kalispell Lakers A 10-0 at Griffin Field.

He was 0-for-5 with two strikeouts at bat, but Clark-Dickenson’s teammates provided ample support.

Greyson Bistodeau had four hits in five at-bats, scored two runs and drove in another two from his leadoff spot. Tom Hellwig added three hits, and Terek Bistodeau chipped in a pair of hits and two RBIs.

The Twins totaled 15 hits, and Clark-Dickenson was the only starter who did not reach base.

He fired 66 of his 100 pitches for strikes, issuing just two walks in his seven innings. He also struck out two.

It took some time for the Twins offense to catch fire, but it poured on runs quickly when it did.

Glacier broke a scoreless tie with six runs in the top of the fifth inning and tacked on four more in the seventh.

Cole Crosby, Logan Siblerud, Evan Todd and Brandon Jordan each had hits for the Lakers.

The two teams will face off again today at 3 p.m. in Whitefish.

CRANBROOK, British Columbia — The Libby Loggers A broke out the bats in a big way in Game 1 and stayed hot at the plate in the nightcap to sweep a doubleheader against the Cranbrook Bandits A in their season finale.

The Loggers won the opener via run rule, a 17-5 victory, and took Game 2 10-9.

After two scoreless frames to begin Game 1, Libby scored five runs in the third inning, eight in the fourth and four in the fifth to take a 17-0 lead.

Cranbrook showed some life in the bottom of the fifth, putting five runs on the board, but it was not enough to avoid the mercy rule.

The top of the batting order did most of the work for the Loggers, as the first four batters — Tim Carvey, Jesse Dunham, Brady Bateman and Shayne Walker — accounted for nine hits, eight runs and eight RBIs.

Seth Bateman scored three runs, while Braydan Thom, Raul Rodriguez and Ty Bateman each crossed the plate twice.

Ty Bateman added three RBIs.

Walker pitched all five innings for Libby, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits with six strikeouts.

In the high-scoring nightcap, the Loggers raced to an 8-2 lead after two innings.

They added two runs in the top of the sixth to make it 10-3, but saw most of the lead evaporate in the bottom half.

Cranbrook struck for six runs, closing the margin to just one run.

Carvey pitched a perfect seventh inning to earn the save.

Brady Bateman enjoyed another strong game at the dish in Game 2, recording two hits and three RBIs.

Thom chipped in two hits and drove in a run.

With its regular season now complete, Libby is off until district play begins Wednesday.
