American Legion Baseball Red Sox, Twins top seeds in West district tourney

The West District Class A American Legion baseball tournament begins Thursday with four games at Memorial Field in Whitefish.
The Bitterroot Red Sox are the top seed with the tournament host Glacier Twins holding the No. 2 seed.
The double-elimination tournament will run through Monday if a second championship game is necessary.
The top two finishers advance to state, which begins July 27th in Three Forks.
The Red Sox blasted the Twins 23-2 in last year’s district title game in Florence and also won 6-3 over the Twins in the 2015 final in Polson.
The Twins have played in the last three district title games.
Glacier was also second at districts in 2014, but won state that year and advanced to regional play in Alaska.
Daily admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors (ages 55-and-over). Children 12-and-under are admitted free.
