| July 20, 2017 8:41 PM

Marcia “Marcy” Stevens Sandru passed away peacefully on Monday, July 17, 2017, in her home in Kalispell.

She was born on Sept. 24, 1955, in Kalispell but called Bigfork her home. She graduated from Bigfork High in 1973 and shortly thereafter moved to Kalispell to start a family.

Marcia spent most of the last 20 years in Alaska where she lived with her longtime partner, John Cola, and worked as an office manager for the local food bank. She thoroughly enjoyed her work at the Fairbanks Community Food Bank; it gave her great purpose and joy.

Marcia was an avid softball player and coach, entrepreneur and gardener, outdoors and animal lover. Marcia was the family comedian; her friends described her as witty, funny and sassy. Blessed with the most generous heart, Marcia was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, niece and friend.

Marcia was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles and Mabel Morton; beloved father, William “Bill” Sears; biological father, Robert Stevens; and sister, Kelly Rose.

She is survived by her children, Mason Smith and Aja Thomas; mother, Delores Sears; loving partner, John Colagiovanni; aunt, Rosemary Qualls-Holgren; grandchildren, Kota Farrar, Thelina Conley, Trenton Smith, and Lynnae Smith; sisters, Debbie DeShais, Cheryl Stevens, Dali Evey, Dee Johnson, Tawna Inman and Judy Sears; brothers, John Wilson, Kevin Sears and John “Butch” Sears; her numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved furry companions.

The family would like to invite those who knew and loved Marcia to attend her celebration of life that will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, at the Morton family home in Bigfork.
