Erwin R. Jensen, 74

Erwin R. Jensen passed away unexpectedly at Kalispell Regional Medical Center on July 16, 2017, of natural causes after a short illness.

Erwin was born Oct. 12, 1942, in Cardston, Alberta. He was the son of Lloyd R. “Dick” Jensen and Alta M. Jensen. In 1948, the family moved to Kalispell, and to a farm near Somers in 1951 where Erwin attended the Somers Grade School through the eighth grade and then continued at Flathead County High School until his junior year when he joined the U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged after completing his three-year service.

Erwin’s career included working on the Libby railroad relocation tunnel, for the Operating Engineers Union on the Alaska pipeline, and as a crane operator in Anchorage, Alaska and Denver, before retiring from his last job in Billings.

Surviving Erwin are his wife, Linda; his son, Steven, and Lola Jensen, of Minnesota; and his daughter, Niki, and Gary Marchant, of Billings; sisters, Beverly Schm-eeckle of Kalispell, Deanna and King Billedeau of Sun City West, Arizona, and Linda and Jim Heim of Lakeside; five grandchildren; several cousins and nieces and nephews.

Erwin was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd “Dick” Jensen and Alta Jensen.

Especially enjoyed by Erwin were fishing and hunting in Alaska and Montana and camping with friends in the Good Sams Club. Erwin and Linda lived in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and spent their summers in Polson visiting family and friends and fishing on Flathead Lake and Lake Mary Ronan. Erwin was also an active member of the VFW for many years.

No services are planned a at this time. The family suggests memorials be made to the VFW in Kalispell.
