Congratulations to class of 2017

| June 4, 2017 4:00 AM

This weekend, local graduates and their families celebrated a milestone. Part of the celebration is reflecting on past accomplishments, and the other is looking forward to the future life yet to be built.

Last week, the Daily Inter Lake ran a series of articles featuring class of 2017 graduates who are choosing the road less traveled. Some have already overcome incredible challenges in their lives — physical obstacles, familial rifts and even addiction — but have persevered. These students have a wide variety of interests and talents — ranging from dancing and art to business acumen and welding — and are beginning their next chapters with a wide variety of ideas about what the future will, or should, look like.

It’s a good representation of a diverse class. These graduates are prepared to think outside the box ... Many of them already operate there. In a world with fast-changing technology, industry and opportunity, that is an ability that will serve them well.

Robert Frost said it best:

“... I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I —

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.”

We wish all of the graduates well in their future endeavors, whichever road you choose to travel.
