Dorothy Larraine (Kirk) Rabidue-Freich, 96
Dorothy Larraine (Kirk) Rabidue-Freich, 96, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2017, at Edgewood Vista in Evergreen, with her daughter by her side.
Dorothy was born on July 21, 1920, in Belle Fourche, South Dakota, to John and Loda (Westland) Kirk. She attended school in Spearfish and received her certificate on May 29, 1936.
Dorothy’s first marriage to Woodrow Rabidue resulted in four children, Carol Mae, Marjorie Holmes, Larry and Robert. In later years she married Laren “Bud” Freich, who had four children, LaDonna, Vonzell, Vernell and Wayne.
After raising her family, she became a member of the Whitefish Moose Lodge and granny club. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, beadwork, and anything else crafty. She and Bud enjoyed camping and fishing with friends. Dorothy loved to cook and bake. Her favorite color was purple. She loved collecting black and white cows and will always be remembered for her many different earrings, many of which she made herself.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Woodrow and Bud, two sisters, one brother, daughter Carol Mae, granddaughter Jennifer Williams, grandson Bill Rabidue, son-in-law Kip Holmes, and stepdaughters LaDonna and Vonzell Freich.
Dorothy is survived by her sister Marjorie Ann Finck, sister-in-law Ruth Kirk, children Larry and Kelly (Shane, Larry Allen, Jerry, Wanda, Carol Mae, and Hunter); Marjorie Holmes (Jon Lynch, Clifford Holmes, Sheryl and Jimmy Williams, and Wayne); Bob and Betty Rabidue (Chalese and Kevin, Braman, and Bryan and Karen Reed); Debra and Scott Raebel, Jack Role and family, Vernell and Cliff Schillinger and family and many great-great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 7, at Glacier Memorial Gardens. Columbia Mortuary is caring for Dorothy’s family.
