Kalispell man pleads guilty to felony intimidation
A Kalispell man admitted repeatedly threatening his ex-wife in the presence of law enforcement in January of this year.
William Clinton Blue, 27, pleaded guilty to felony intimidation before Flathead District Court Judge Amy Eddy on June 1.
Court records state that Kalispell Police officers responded to a report of a threatening phone call. The person who answered the call said the man on the line said that if Katy Blue worked there, everyone was in danger.
Officers then met with Katy, who said she was William Blue’s ex-wife and they had two children together. Due to an extensive history of abuse and threats made by Blue, Katy said she had just gone to court that morning to extend an order of protection for she and her children against him.
While talking with the officers, Katy received a phone call from Blue. The officer with her answered the phone, identified himself and informed Blue of the protection order in place to prevent him from contacting her.
Blue told officer “someone is really going to get hurt if I don’t get to see my [expletive] kids.” He informed the officer that he did not care about the protection order and would “violate and violate and violate.” He then stated he would do “whatever it takes” to see his children and hung up on the officer.
Blue later called back demanding to speak to his ex-wife, but was again informed of the protection order by the officer. He then called a third and fourth time while Katy was at the Kalispell Police Department and spoke directly with Capt. Doug Overman. At that time he made several more threats toward his ex-wife, stating he intended to find her and hurt her if he did not get to see his kids. Officers arrested Blue, who made several comments during his ride in the patrol car about how he intended to physically harm Katy.
Blue’s sentencing is set for July 27. Blue could face up to 10 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
