Organizations offer flags for Flag Day

Flag Day ceremonies, hosted by the Elks, Civil Air Patrol and the United Veterans of the Flathead Valley, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, at Depot Park in Kalispell.

Members of the public are invited and encouraged to bring their old flags for proper disposal. Lunch will be provided at the Elks Club immediately after the service.

The Springs at Whitefish is offering free 3-by-5 U.S. flags to anyone who would like one or who would like to exchange their old one for a new one. Stop by The Springs, 1001 River Lakes Parkway in Whitefish, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. today to pick one up or call to reserve one at 406-862-6322.

On Flag Day, June 14, Whitefish Boy Scout Troop 1917 will conduct a retirement ceremony at 2 p.m. with the old flags that have been collected.
