Marilyn (Berg) Lengstorf, 80
Early Monday morning, June 12, 2017, Marilyn Lengstorf “joined her husband John but left the world poorer in her passing.”
Marilyn Berg was born April 29, 1937, to Harry and Madeline Berg. She graduated from Flathead County High School in 1955.
Marilyn, known as Peachy to her close friends and family, was no stranger to hardship. She met the challenges of life head on. Peachy was tough but fair, and full of love. After losing her first son John early in life, she continued on steadfastly as a strong and caring mother to her other two children. Her other son, Mike, passed away before her as well. Peachy did not let the struggles of life define her. She did not close herself off, but rather redoubled her efforts to be a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Peachy was famous for her amazing bakery. She was a delight to all of her customers and her kids and grandkids who enjoyed the endless parade of goodies. Peachy’s Homemade was the bane and delight of the doctors of Kalispell, with caramel cinnamon rolls so big they could replace a meal. She also found time to care for her grandchildren even after working long hours at the bakery. As she neared retirement with her husband, they made plans to move to their cabin up at McGregor Lake to enjoy the fruits of their labor. Not long after John retired, Peachy canceled her plans to continue work at her successful bakery and started her much earned rest. She spent time with her family and friends playing cards, visiting with friends, and making everyone who came by feel welcome. No one could match her skill at Whist, love of babies, and production of crocheted items. When she moved back to Kalispell, she was able to enjoy and care for her great-grandchildren.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband John Lengstorf, and her sons Mike and John Lengstorf.
She is survived by her daughter Kathy Lengstorf, and her grandchildren Bryce Provo, Mandi Kelly, Jennifer Jasmin and Benjamin Drent.
A memorial service will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, at the cabin at McGregor Lake, 530 McGregor Lane.
