Toddler missing, found in a 'ruff' spot

A father reported his 2-year-old daughter missing after finding her bedroom open and the girl gone. The man called Kalispell Police back moments later to inform authorities he had located his daughter. She was under the porch with the dogs.

A concerned mother reported an elderly man for approaching her 7-year-old daughter, asking if she wanted to see some puppies. The mother feared the man might be a sex offender.

A woman was reported for using a leaf blower to blow dirt and debris from the middle of First Avenue West onto residents’ property.

A pit bull mix was found running around on Idaho Street. The reporting person contained the dog in a hotel room until officers could respond to take the dog to the shelter.

A woman reported being sexually harassed by a car full of men. The men allegedly abandoned their victim and left to light firecrackers. Officers closed the report, stating no crime occurred.

A man reported his ex-girlfriend for slashing his tires while he was inside a casino. The woman was described as “psycho.” Officers found no evidence that she had committed the crime.

A 1-year-old toddler was allegedly found wandering around an apartment complex, naked except for her diaper, dirty and covered in red markings. Upon arrival, officers found the door open to the apartment she allegedly belonged to. The apartment was reportedly littered with beer bottles with no one inside. Child Protective Services was called to follow up on the incident. The parents of the child allegedly returned to the apartment of the person who reported the incident, beating on her door and threatening to kill her and her children. The parents denied all allegations.

A man allegedly broke into an office building on North Main Street and was found sleeping inside by an employee. The male reportedly took nothing but locked himself in an upstairs room.

A woman was reported for reckless driving after she allegedly ran three cars off the road while passing, according to the Flathead Sheriff’s Office. The woman was last seen tailgating a fourth car, trying to pass.

A black and white Malamute mix was found on Stoner Creek Road and taken to the county shelter.

A mother was reported for yelling at and hitting her young son at a laundry mat. The woman was reportedly dropped off at the location with six or seven other children. The reporting person stated she saw the woman punch the boy in the face, knocking his head against a window hard enough to shake the glass.

A lab mix was found on Broken Wheel Loop and taken to the county shelter.

A bike was reportedly stolen off a porch on Drewry Lane.

Another bike was reportedly found on Poplar Drive and stored at the sheriff’s office.

An inflatable two-person kayak was reported missing.

A brown chow/lab mix was found on First Avenue North and taken to the county shelter.

A resident of McMannamy Way was reported for using a bulldozer to block the road and allegedly chase neighbors.

Multiple storage units off U.S. 2 East were reportedly broken into and several items taken.

An Idaho man who was allegedly bitten by a rattlesnake requested rescue by Two Bear Air.

A resident of Grand Drive in Bigfork called to report her neighbor for entering her home while drunk and without permission. After the man allegedly attempted to enter the woman’s home a second time at 4 a.m. the next morning, the woman requested permission from law enforcement to mace him.

A deer was reportedly seen near a high school running track with some type of metal wrapped around its neck. The deer did not appear to be in distress and was simply making a fashion statement.

A woman reported her neighbors’ children for repeatedly ramming her vehicle in their child-size toy car. The woman said she noticed several small scratches on the back of her vehicle that she believed were caused by the kids. The children have not yet been charged with hit-and-run or criminal mischief.

Someone reportedly smashed the hood and grill of a BMW with a baseball bat. A lone baseball was found at the scene.

A vehicle was reportedly stolen while parked off U.S. 2 East.

A water main on Seventh Street reportedly burst, pouring water on the surrounding streets, according to a Columbia Falls Police report. Maintenance crews were called in to shut off the water on Third Avenue East and repair the main.

A “drunk, white woman with a hula hoop” was reportedly seen walking around on Arielle Way. Whitefish Police officers approached the woman who informed them she was not drunk and was “just practicing.”

An Australian shepherd was reportedly abandoned near a high school. The dog was taken to the police station for safekeeping.
