WHITEFISH — James Sampson-Keck hit a go-ahead double, earning one of his two RBIs on the night, to key a five-run rally in the seventh inning of a 7-3 win for the Glacier Twins A over the Kalispell Lakers A on Wednesday night.

Sampson-Keck was one of four Twins with two or more hits in the win, which was their 18th in the last 19 games. The lone loss in Glacier’s current streak came last weekend to Volkswagen of Olympia in the Ed Gallo Memorial Tournament.

Ryan Veneman had three hits, including two doubles, from his No. 2 spot in the lineup, and Tom Hellwig scored two runs and drove in another.

Tyler Kitch had two hits for the Lakers, who watched a one-run lead evaporate during the Twins’ rally in the bottom of the seventh.

Glacier jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a run each in the first and second innings, but Kalispell responded with two runs in the top of the third.

The Lakers added a run in the sixth, only to see the Twins pull away an inning later.

Glacier starter Coby Clark-Dickenson allowed five hits and two runs, though neither was earned, in 4 2/3 inning of work on the mound.

Forrest Kobelt got the win for his 3 1/3 innings of relief, in which he allowed a run on two hits and four walks.

Evan Todd took the loss for the Lakers.

The two clubs will meet again tonight for another nine-inning game at the Lakers’ Griffin Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
