Grocery store 'beer'glar taken down

A man was reportedly tackled in a grocery store parking lot and pinned on the ground by security after he allegedly stole a beer and some oranges. According to the Kalispell Police report, bystanders were standing by.

A man was reported for driving down a highway on a motorcycle with a 2-year-old riding on the gas tank.

A man in a red shirt and a back brace was reported for sitting under a private balcony and playing his ukulele. The man was moved along by officers, but was reported again later for “being belligerent” and threatening people. The man was allegedly intoxicated and carrying a ski pole as well as his instrument.

Two husky mixes were found and taken to the local shelter.

An “elderly” black and brown dog was found and taken to the shelter. The dog had Whitefish Animal Hospital tags.

A vehicle on Central Avenue reportedly kept rolling into the street after its owner allegedly forgot to put it in park, according to a Whitefish Police report.

Suspected drug activity was reported on Colorado Avenue.

Someone reportedly spray painted graffiti on the northwest wall of a school building, according to Columbia Falls Police.

Officers advised a resident of 12th Avenue West that he was not allowed to keep a pig within the city.

A man was reported to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office for riding over a homeowner’s property on Pleasant Valley road and allegedly attempting to run one of the owners over with his ATV.

Half a dozen cattle reportedly escaped their fence and took a stroll down U.S. 2 West.

A resident of Swanlea Road South reported having several checks stolen and cashed at a local bank.

Someone was reported for trespassing on a man’s property on Hodgson Road to shoot rabbits.

A woman reported her neighbor for holding a crowbar and tapping it against his palm in a “threatening manner” as she drove past his house.

Someone reportedly destroyed a family’s above ground pool on Birch Drive.

Fishing line was reportedly found strung across a road on Swan River Drive. None of the surrounding residents knew why it was there but said it had pulled a man off his motorcycle.

Four horses reportedly escaped and were seen running down Karrow Avenue.

A large black dog was found on Batavia Lane and taken to the county shelter.

A young girl was reportedly seen with an older man who was “acting strangely” toward her. The man was allegedly yelling and cussing at the girl and witnesses described having a “bad feeling about it.”

A female Jack Russell terrier was found going through someone’s garbage on Mountain View Drive and taken to the county shelter.

A man was found lying in a ditch. The male was conscious, breathing and uninjured, so officers moved him along.

A pug was found on Foys Lake Road and taken to the county shelter.
