Unknown suspect goes postal in Whitefish

A mailbox had reportedly been “blown up” at a residence at East Edgewood Drive in Whitefish. The caller said he heard a loud noise prior to finding the debris, and that he also heard a vehicle with a loud muffler “peel out.” Several other residences in the area also had their mailboxes blown up according to Flathead County Sheriff’s Office.

A dozen cows were reportedly meandering outside their pen on Blue Grouse Drive.

A drunk male on East Idaho Street was reportedly attempting to go through a drive thru on foot. He was told that he can’t walk through the drive thru and reportedly became disorderly and refused to leave.

A man was allegedly standing in a field with his pants down near U.S. 2 East.

A caller in Hungry Horse reported that his ex-girlfriend had allegedly poured gasoline on his floor and attempted to light it on fire. His ex later returned to the residence with her new boyfriend and allegedly threatened to burn the house down while flicking matches.

Ten cows were reportedly loose near Lake Blaine Road.

A caller on U.S. 2 East in Kalispell reported that her daughter-in-law hit her in the face and that she was allegedly holding a hatchet and screaming.

A man on Columbia Meadows Drive in Columbia Falls reported that his neighbor had allegedly backed his boat into his fence. It was unkown if the incident was accidental or intentional.

A caller on U.S. 93 South reported that her cat had been missing for three days. She stated that her neighbor had a live trap in his yard and she was concerned when she saw black hairs on the trap that her cat might have been caught in it. The neighbor stated that he was attempting to catch a large, orange wild cat, but that the only thing he had caught thus far were a pair of skunks.

Two males were reportedly digging in a trash on Nucleus Avenue, according to Columbia Falls Police.

A caller on Ninth Avenue Street West requested a walk through of a building, stating that suspicious subjects who looked like “tweakers” were inside.
