Best of Telluride MountainFilm Festival touring Montana

| March 2, 2017 4:00 AM

The Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation is bringing “MountainFilm on Tour,” a traveling collection of films from the Telluride MountainFilm Festival, to the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish on Thursday, March 9.

The three-day tour around Montana will also make stops in Great Falls (March 7) and Helena (March 8). Doors for the film festival open at 6 p.m. with films beginning at 7 p.m. The foundation claims that proceeds from the film festival will help bring more than 350 volunteers into the Bob Marshall Wilderness in 2017, working to keep trails open, manage invasive weeds and protect wildlife habitat, all while engaging in a wilderness experience with the power to change lives and instill a land ethic.

Tickets to the event are $15 and are available at www.bmwf.org/events, at Rocky Mountain Outfitter in Kalispell and at Sportsman and Ski Haus in Whitefish.

In addition to the films, attendees may purchase Blackfoot River Brewing beers, food and raffle tickets for a variety of prizes.
