Pastor threatened by parishioner

A local pastor allegedly was threatened with a writing pen by a man in his congregation who reportedly said he wanted to stab the pastor, according to the Kalispell Police Department. The man was last seen fleeing on foot toward the library.

A Blue Crest Drive resident called police because someone had been pushing hard ice chunks into the road, and the resident was concerned about the potential for vehicle damage. Officers spoke with some homeowners in the area who admitted to pushing the ice into the street. They were counseled and agreed to remove the chunks.

A man reportedly lost his pistol while at a church on Summit Ridge Drive. The man said he called and left messages with the staff there to try and recover it.

A road crew working on clearing snow found a bowie knife near Second Avenue East and First Street East, and turned it in to police.

A wayward black-and-white dog reportedly jumped into a caller’s vehicle near Seventh Avenue West and Sunnyside Drive, with no collar or tags and no owner in sight. Police took the male pooch to the Flathead County Animal Shelter.

A woman reported that some money had been stolen out of her vehicle while parked in a lot off Hutton Ranch Road.

A man was cited for indecent exposure after allegedly stripping down and screaming at traffic near Fifth Avenue West North and West Idaho Street.

A caller reported finding a syringe near a dumpster on Two Mile Drive. Officers retrieved it and disposed of it.

Another needle was reported in a parking lot off U.S. 93 South. Officers picked it up and disposed of it, as well.

A woman told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office that her granddaughter came home carrying several items from different local retail stores. The granddaughter allegedly claimed people gave her money to purchase the items, but her grandmother said she has a history of theft. The grandmother requested backup from officers to help her get to the truth.

Deputies helped two dogs loose on Rose Crossing get back to their owner.

An Eighth Street West resident called to report a stolen vehicle.

A purse was found at a U.S. 2 East store, apparently forgotten in a shopping cart. It was turned over to authorities.

An air conditioner unit was reported stolen from Poplar Drive.

A woman on Shady Lane called about two suspicious men outside a building smoking. She thought they looked out of place so late at night. Officers spoke with the men, who were employees at the building and had just been taking a smoke break.

A woman called the Whitefish Police Department when she discovered someone had written “some horrible things” about her all over her car while it was parked on Wisconsin Avenue.

Two jackets were reportedly stolen from Central Avenue businesses Saturday night.

A Martha Road resident told police there was $150 missing from her purse.
