Kenneth Yarus, Nate Closson, Tyler Murphy and Richie Carter will be holding an evening of fine art Friday, March 10 in the ballroom above Sassafras in downtown Kalispell from 6 to 10 p.m. The show will also be open Saturday from 3 to 8 p.m.

Friday’s opening will feature live music, refreshments, a chance to win an original oil painting, and the opportunity to meet the four artists.

Young Montana artists Yarus, Carter and Closson will be joined by Murphy, a painter and gallery owner in Billings, to present alongside them.

In the past several years the four artists have come to know each other, banding together with a like-minded vision for their artistic pursuits. Closson and Carter both obtained art degrees from The University of Montana while Ken studied at art academies in New York and Oregon. Murphy has been the owner of Montana Gallery for the last four years. All four have been drawn to the tradition of oil painting.

“Painting is such a demanding field of work which by nature is quite isolating” Carter said in a press release.

Sassafras is located at 120 S. Main St., Kalispell. For more information, visit www.kennethyarusfineart.com or call 406-249-0165.
