Train halted overnight due to mudslide

A mudslide on the tracks between Libby and Sandpoint required a passenger train carrying 130 people to hold overnight at the Whitefish Depot, according to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office.

A woman claimed someone took her cats from her home while she was in the hospital.

Two boys allegedly got into a fistfight after getting off their school bus. A witness stated “it was blood red as soon as they got off.” The boys were reportedly armed with knives, which were taken from them when they boarded the bus.

Mail was reportedly stolen from a residence on Armory Road in Whitefish.

A man stated he was in the shower when someone allegedly attempted to break into his home on U.S. 2 East through a window.

Officers with Columbia Falls Police Department were unable to catch a black and brown dog running loose on Sulky Lane. The dog appeared to have been loose for a while and was covered in burrs.

The owner of a lab/malamute mix reported the dog missing from its home on Texas Avenue.

A German shepherd was running around in the Forest Acres area, allegedly causing problems with other dogs. Authorities said they were unable to locate the shepherd but did find a red heeler running around in the park.

Someone found a golden retriever near Antler Ridge Road after it reportedly came running out of a residential area.

A tan terrier was seen near Whale Bone Drive.

A brindle pit bull was seen running loose on Empire Loop. The dog was later seen roaming Kara Drive and Shellan Way before a Kalispell Police officer took the dog to the county shelter.

Two dogs were seen on Four Mile Drive. They were described as a black lab and a golden lab.

A Redneck Billy Bob ink pen was allegedly stolen from a business on Central Avenue, according to a Whitefish Police report.

Odors of smoke were allegedly seeping through the walls of an apartment complex. Authorities advised the suspect against smoking around the neighbors.

An intoxicated male was reportedly “disturbing customers” by exposing himself. Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies picked the man up.

Two mix breed dogs were reported missing from their home on Sunnyside Drive.

Someone reported seeing a red and blue flare go off in the Preacher Mountain area.
