Harry Dale Moore, 80

Harry Dale Moore passed away on March 15, 2017.

He was born on May 11, 1936, to Helen and Noel Moore in Glasgow. He was the eldest of four. The family spent their early years traveling around the Northwest working on various construction projects. Harry later followed his father into the construction business. His first job was as an oiler and he soon honed his skills operating cranes and various heavy equipment. He was a lifelong member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. Harry worked on many large construction projects such as the Eisenhower Locks on the St. Lawrence Seaway, Libby Dam and Microsoft corporate buildings, as well as several jobs around Northwest Montana and in the Flathead Valley.

He met Patricia Donnelly while working in upstate New York. They were married and remained together for 59 years. They had two sons and Harry moved his young family to the Flathead Valley and settled in 1966. He immediately took a liking to Flathead Lake and he and his family spent much of their time fishing there as well as many other lakes in the valley where they met many lifelong friends.

Harry enjoyed his 20-plus years of retirement and was known in the community as an avid fisherman; a wood craftsman creating woodcrafts known as Harry Bear Craftsman, everything from lawn ornaments, whirlybirds, birdhouses and clocks.

He had a passion for the care and tending of wildlife on and around their property and this was reflected in the park-like setting with many birdhouses.

Harry and Patricia felt blessed that many of the staff of Kalispell Regional Medical Center extended outstanding care.

Harry is survived by his wife Patricia, siblings Joe Moore, Jackie Miller and Jim Moore; two sons, Michael Moore and Robert Moore; and two granddaughters, M’Lissa Leno and Megan Moore.

Harry will be missed by family and friends, all of whom admired his work ethic and passion toward the care of animals and love of family.
