Dogs embark on deer chase, again
A group of dogs were reportedly chasing deer around Idaho Hill Road. A caller told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office that it was an ongoing problem in the area.
An employee of a U.S. 2 East business in Kalispell reported two beers had been stolen sometime Tuesday.
A couple allegedly left a Coram restaurant without paying the bill.
A Wintercrest Drive resident told deputies that he had been getting someone else’s mail, and some of his mail had come up missing recently. He said it also appeared the same person was using his phone number. The caller was concerned about identity theft.
A West Cottonwood Drive resident reported a stolen vehicle. It was later recovered by Kalispell police.
An intoxicated pedestrian was reportedly seen lying in the middle of a parking lot of U.S. 2 West in Columbia Falls. Someone picked him up before deputies arrived.
A Ferndale Drive resident in Bigfork called deputies when a boxer/terrier/pit bull mix dog that had been running at large ended up contained in her backyard. The dog had no collar or tag, and the woman didn’t know who it belonged to. The tan-colored pup was picked up and taken to the Flathead County Animal Shelter.
A caller at a U.S. 93 South business in Kalispell told deputies that three dogs were constantly coming on to the property and bothering customers. Deputies made contact with the dogs’ owner, who promised to keep them contained on her property.
A man with a storage unit on Montana 206 in Columbia Falls reported the unit had possibly been broken into. He said he found the unit unlocked and there was a cigarette butt on the floor, despite the fact that “no one who has been inside smokes.” The man said nothing appeared to be missing, but asked for extra patrol in the area anyway.
A Willow Drive resident in Kalispell reportedly found a syringe and needle in front of his house. Deputies picked it up and disposed of it.
A Parkway Drive resident called the Kalispell Police Department after allegedly receiving a call from someone claiming to be from the IRS. The IRS caller reportedly told the woman someone else had gained employment using her social security number. The woman wanted the possible fraud investigated.
A caller told police someone had been siphoning gas from vehicles in the Fifth Avenue East/Seventh Street East area, and requested extra patrols in the neighborhood.
A Baker Avenue resident told the Whitefish Police Department that someone had opened her back gate. She thought it might have been an ex-roommate, and requested some extra patrol overnight near the home.
A Houston Point Drive resident reported that some checks had been stolen out of a mailbox and were being written fraudulently.
A Colorado Avenue resident called police to report a nearby neighbor allegedly smoking marijuana.
A Park Avenue resident complained of a nearby neighbor allegedly playing loud music. Officers made contact with the noisy suspect, who said he would “keep it down” from now on.
An employee of a Nucleus Avenue business told the Columbia Falls Police Department that someone was cashing stolen checks.
An 11th Street West resident told police there was an unknown vehicle parked in the driveway, blocking access in and out. The caller suspected it had been done on purpose by a relative’s ex-boyfriend. Officers found that the vehicle was not completely blocking driveway access, and it had broken down rather than being left there maliciously.
