No. 24472 LEGAL NOTICE - ADVERTISEMENT FOR PUBLIC BID OF BLACKFEET TRIBAL GRAZING UNIT PERMITS FOR 2017 GRAZING SEASON The Superintendent, BIA Blackfeet Agency, announces that sealed bids are being accepted on the following Tribal Grazing Units located on the Smith Ranch, which is now owned by the Blackfeet Tribe. This bid is open to the general public. Per Excerpt LE-17-070, passed by the Blackfeet Tribal Business Council (BTBC) the following provisions will apply to the 2017 Smith Ranch Bid Units: Blackfeet Tribal members who have submitted an unsuccessful bid will have the right to meet or exceed the high bid and must do so within 2 working days of the general bid opening. In the event 2 or more Blackfeet Tribal members wish to exercise their preferential right to meet or exceed the high bid, they must do so within 2 working days of the general bid opening. An individual may bid on more than one pasture to increase their chances of a successful bid. In the event they are the successful bidder on more than they need, they may choose to withdraw their bid on those that are in excess of their needs, but must do so within 1 working day of the bid opening. Anyone with a delinquent debt to the Blackfeet Tribe will not be allowed to bid. Each field will be bid on a per animal basis. Successful bidder/lessee will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all fences and /or other improvements. All livestock must be owned wholly by the successful bidder. All offspring (calves, foals, etc.) must carry the same brand as the brood stock. The Blackfeet Tribe reserves the right to access and inspect any and all of the leased property including improvements and equipment at any given time. The Blackfeet Tribe reserves the right to refuse any and/or all bids. The minimum bid for the following grazing units was established by the Blackfeet Tribal Business Council at $30.00 per AUM. Successful bidders will be issued a 1 year grazing permit, exclusively for their own livestock. You must include 100% of the total cash bid in the form of a certified check, cashier's check or money order made payable to the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Mark clearly on your bid, "SEALED BID: DO NOT OPEN UNTIL 10:00 AM, May 08, 2017". Grazing units administered by the Bureau of Indian Affairs are subject to an administrative fee of 3%.
