Fishing gear goes missing

A Woodland Place resident told the Whitefish Police Department that several items, including a wallet and fishing gear, had been stolen out of his car. He said his car had been locked, and suspected the thief may have gained access through the back window.

Police received a call from employees on board the train coming into Whitefish, who wanted assistance with a passenger who had allegedly passed out after drinking too much alcohol. Officers met the train at the station and removed the suspect.

An employee of a store on Ninth Street West called the Columbia Falls Police Department when a young man who was allegedly extremely drunk came into the business. The caller said the man wasn’t causing any problems, but wanted police to check on him for the man’s own safety.

The Evergreen Fire Department responded to reports of an outdoor gas odor on U.S. 2 East.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to reports of an outdoor gas odor on Seventh Avenue East.

The Whitefish Fire Department responded to reports of an outdoor gas odor on Hazel Place, as well as to a motor vehicle fire on East Second Street.
