This Friday, the Kalispell Senior Center ballroom will be decked out in lace and dotted with miniature sandwiches and pastries for an old-fashioned tea party fundraiser.

Lois Katz, chairman of the Agency on Aging advisory board, said the money raised by the event will go toward the senior center’s activities and supplies. The party will be Friday, May 12, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $12 a person.

“We thought it would be a fun event, one that’s never been done before here,” she said. “We hope people come wearing their hats and dressed up if they choose to.”

The tea party is the newest fundraiser added to the center’s list and will be the largest event yet in its new location.

The event will include tea sandwiches, miniature pastries that Emmanuel Lutheran donated and live music by Erin Keithley.

Katz said volunteers are also lending the senior center their family-embroidered tablecloths.

All ages are welcome to attend the event, which can host up to 132 guests. Katz said people have to buy tickets in advance. Tickets are for sale at the Agency on Aging front desk, located at 40 11th St. W., Suite 100, Kalispell.

“We’re going to get as close as we can to an old-fashioned tea party,” Katz said. “Tickets are getting close to being sold out, but we’re going to keep selling them until we’re full to capacity.”
