Post members will walk to the bridge to honor those lost at sea. At approximately 12:30 p.m. members will be at the Veterans Memorial Wall at Marantette Park, where a temporary plaque will be available to view. The actual dedication of the new plaque will take place during Heritage Days in July.

The Columbia Falls Post is registered as an official 50th Anniversary Post with the Department of Defense, in its celebration and honor of the Vietnam conflict.

The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration began with the Presidential inaugural event at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., on Memorial Day, May 28, 2012, and concludes on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2025, by Presidential Proclamation. The 50th anniversary is to be commemorated over a long period of time as many Americans served and sacrificed over that long period of time.
