Police keep busy with vehicle issues

A neighbor called the Whitefish Police Department about several vehicles allegedly blocking fire-hydrant access on State Park Road. Officers were able to contact the owners of the vehicles, who agreed to park elsewhere.

A Crestwood Court resident called police when she discovered a large rock in her yard had been hit overnight by a vehicle. She told police there were pieces of a vehicle scattered in the yard and oil on the grass and trailing down the road. Officers spoke with some neighbors, but were unable to locate any nearby vehicles with damage matching the accident.

A couple called police after fearing their vehicle had been stolen from in front of a Central Avenue location. Officers were able to locate the vehicle, which had actually been parked a few blocks away. The couple reportedly took a taxi home.

A Baker Avenue resident requested extra patrol in the area for speeders, intoxicated pedestrians and “just for people in general.”

Someone reported finding an out-of-state ID at a store on U.S. 93 South. The ID was dropped off to police.

A group complained about people allegedly throwing glass into the street on Central Avenue.

A fist fight was reported on Central Avenue.

A Fifth Avenue West resident called the Columbia Falls Police Department after finding the back window of her vehicle had been “busted out.”

A Ninth Street West resident told police there was a woman who frequently walked her dog in the area who was deliberately walking on to the caller’s property and allowing the dog to poop in the yard.

Officers responded to a Seventh Street West residence, where a couple was reportedly yelling at each other. They found there was no altercation; the subjects had just been attempting to get into their apartment.

The Somers-Lakeside Fire Department responded to reports of a grass fire on Cloud Creek Road.

The Creston Fire Department responded to reports of a motor vehicle fire on Middle Road.

The Bad Rock Fire Department responded to reports of a grass fire on Tranquil Trail.

The Columbia Falls Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire on Fourth Street West North.
