'Broad Comedy' show coming to Whitefish
The Whitefish Theatre Co. presents “Broad Comedy,” an award-winning, all-women musical comedy and sketch troupe that has been touring their ever-changing, riotous show around the country for more than a decade. A high-energy, progressive, unapologetically raunchy and hilarious show of musical satire, “Broad Comedy” is performing one night only at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish, at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10.
Join your girlfriends for a non-stop night of fun and laughter by attending the show after the Ladies Night Out downtown event in Whitefish. As the show contains mature material and language, no one under 18 is admitted.
Often billed as “a cross between Jon Stewart, Saturday Night Live, and the Vagina Monologues,” “Broad Comedy” is made up of four irreverent and uproarious, multi-talented women who can do it all — sing, dance and poke fun at everything including politics, social issues, soccer moms, various anatomical shenanigans and things you should never discuss with your mother-in-law. Nothing is off-limits with them.
The Los Angeles Examiner raves that “Broad Comedy” is “exuberant... colossal entertainment value, induced by their joyously vulgar, smart writing and skillfully executed showmanship,” while Comedy Central calls “Broad Comedy” “brilliant…they bring down the house.”
Katie Goodman, an award-winning musical comic, actress, author, speaker and social activist, is the creator and headliner of “Broad Comedy.” Founded in 2000 with her husband, Soren Kisiel, who also writes and directs for the show, “Broad Comedy” has performed across the globe, including an Off-Broadway run in NYC’s Times Square, the Vancouver Fringe Theatre Festival, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, and in comedy clubs and theaters in Boston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and other major cities. Goodman has been seen on Showtime’s “The Green Room With Paul Provenza,” on Current TV as a pundit, and is a featured blogger for The Huffington Post. She recently signed with Comedy Dynamics, North American’s largest independent record label, and her album “Halfway Closer To Dead” is available on iTunes. Her comedy music videos have amassed 2 million hits on YouTube and several more million on Facebook. Goodman and Kisiel were nominated for The EPIC Award from The White House Project for emerging artists and were also nominated for the MacArthur Foundation Genius Grant for their extensive work in theater.
