Gallery to hold 'Celebrate our Firefighters' event Nov. 2

| November 2, 2017 1:14 PM

The Dick Idol Gallery in Whitefish will be hosting a “Celebrate our Firefighters” event from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2.

The community is invited. Artist Crystal Oftedahl comes from a family of wildland firefighters and will be presenting her giclée reproductions of “The Fireline” to each of the heads of four firefighting departments.

The entire firefighting community is invited to the gallery for music and snacks. Oftedahl will have giclées for sale and a miniature show honoring the conclusion of Montana’s 2017 fire season.

There will also be a raffle of a 16-by-24-inch giclée of “The Fireline” with 10 percent of proceeds going to Wildland Firefighter and Families Fund. For more information on the foundation, visit https://wffoundation.org.

The event will also feature live music by Montana singer-songwriter David Walburn, with a special appearance by ukulele duo Gypsy Park, performing a song they composed especially for the firefighters.
