Vance Vernon Plympton, 63

Vance Vernon Plympton, 63, died Nov. 2, 2017, at home in Missoula. His body just wore out.

Viewing and visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Nov. 8 at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home in Kalispell, and the funeral service and reception will follow at 1 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church in Evergreen. Cremation will take place and burial will be done at a later date at the Holy Family Mission on the Blackfeet Reservation.

Vance was born in Kalispell on June 17, 1954, at the old Kalispell Hospital. He attended Evergreen grade school, Flathead High School and Flathead Valley Community College.

Vance worked 15 years at Columbia Falls Aluminum Plant, then for the juvenile detention centers in Kalispell, Missoula and Hamilton. From there he worked at The Hub, which was a drop-in center for the mentally handicapped and the homeless in Billings.

Vance loved people and socializing. People loved him and his sense of humor and his antics. His reputation for fun preceded him. He also enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and family campouts.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Helga Pollock-Plympton, daughter Laressa Brushia; three grandsons, Anthony Brushia, Ethan Brushia and Ian Plympton-Brown. He is also survived by brothers, Warren (Marlene), Weldon (Kay), Steve (Gay) and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son Matthew Plympton, his sister Janey, and his father and mother Jacqueline and Warren Plympton.
