Complaint about icy road in Whitefish ends in verbal rage

A caller contacted the Whitefish Police Department to report icy conditions on the hill on East Second Street near the dog park and all of Armory Road. When dispatch said they couldn’t send a public works employee to remedy the situation immediately, the caller reportedly became hostile, belligerent and uncooperative, so the dispatcher hung up on the caller. The caller called again and got a different dispatcher, and asked to file a complaint about the first dispatcher. The caller demanded to speak with a manager, but it turns out they were already speaking to the manager. The caller allegedly began using foul language and refused to listen to the information dispatch was relaying. Dispatch hung up on the caller again. When they called a third time and heard the same voice, they began cursing and then hung up on their own. The local public works department was notified about the icy road.

A caller reported a man carrying a stepladder near a vacant house which no one was reportedly supposed to be near. The alleged trespasser wore a beard and was somewhere between the age of 20 and 50. When a officer responded, there was no one in the house and also no tracks in the snow outside.

A couple of callers reported a geyser of water shooting 15 feet into the air on Dakota Avenue. They were unsure what the cause was.

Someone called in from a local ice rink reporting strange sounds emanating from a pipe in the building.

One call to dispatch began with an audible male voice saying “You are being an [expletive].” Another male denied the claim in what appeared to be a heated, curse word-laden argument on an open line.

Someone called dispatch to ask where one could park a 40-foot bus in the vicinity of a local restaurant.

A caller reported discovering a dead dog with a leash on it lying on the sidewalk covered in snow.
