Movie Gala Night features 'August Rush'

| November 9, 2017 12:50 PM

The Bigfork Rotary Club will hold a Movie Gala Night fundraiser on Thursday, Nov. 16. The event will feature a screening of the film “August Rush.”

The Rotary’s fundraiser is part of its “Making Music” program, which aims to raise money to replace old band instruments in Bigfork schools. The Bigfork music program includes about 130 student musicians. This fundraiser is for raising matching grant funds (the organization currently has two matching challenges to raise $10,000).

The Movie Gala Night will be held at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts, 526 Electric Ave., Bigfork. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 16, with the program beginning at 7 p.m.

The Bigfork bands will perform opening songs, with updates on the program from the band director. The screening of “August Rush” will follow. Before and after the show guests can peruse the dessert and beer/wine bar.

This event is open to the public and appropriate for all ages.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for a student/child. Advance tickets are available at The Jug Tree and Insured Title in Bigfork. If you bring a functional instrument to donate then admission is free.
