Osa LaCroix, 94

| November 15, 2017 8:21 PM

The world lost a sweet and gentle soul when Osa “went to heaven” on Nov. 14, 2017.

Born July 14, 1923, to Clarence and Tina Jones, Osa grew up on the family farm north of Havre where she helped with chores and rode her horse to school.

Osa married Bob LaCroix Feb. 12, 1943, in Columbia, South Carolina, a short time before he left for World War II service. They had six children and, while Osa loved the outdoors and gardening, her kitchen was often filled with the aroma of fresh-baked bread and

cookies. She also helped Bob on the family farm by driving the grain truck with her young children alongside her in the cab.

She was a lifelong member of the Havre Assembly of God Church until moving to Kalispell in 2006. She enjoyed her “retirement” and was known for racing up and down the halls — no walker for her!

Osa is survived by four of her children, Lois (Dave) Managhan of Kalispell, Eloise (Dan) Marx of Lake Oswego, Oregon, Gary (Carmen) LaCroix of Carrolton, Texas, and Brian (Aleksandra) LaCroix of Plano, Texas. She is also survived by sons-in-law, Dwight

Galbraith and Cecil Durbin; 12 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Her husband Bob, and daughters Sharon Galbraith and Lorraine Durbin preceded her in death.

A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Nov. 21,

at Holland and Bonine Funeral Chapel in Havre, with graveside services at 1 p.m. at Highland Cemetery in Havre. A gathering for family and friends at the Assembly of God Church follows.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the church or charity of your choice.

Please visit Osa’s online memorial page and leave a message of condolence for her family at www.hollandbonine.com.
