Morley, Colorado women finish third at NCAA XC championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Colorado women’s cross country team finished third at the NCAA Division I championships on Saturday.

Buffaloes junior Makena Morley (Bigfork) finished 50th overall as the fourth best finisher for Colorado, crossing the finishing line of the 6-kilometer race in 20:20.8.

Colorado senior Zach Perrin (Flathead) finished 107th overall in the 10k men’s race in 30:48.0 to cross as the fifth finisher for the Buffs, who finished eighth overall.

New Mexico won the women’s title and Northern Arizona took the men’s crown.

Morley helps ThunderWolves to seventh place finish at D-II XC

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The Colorado State-Pueblo men’s cross country team finished in seventh place at the NCAA Division II championships on Saturday.

Thunderwolves sophomore Logan Morley (Bigfork) was the seventh runner for the team, finishing 177th in the 10-kilometer race in 34:06.3.

Adams State (Colorado) won the men’s title.

Mundel a top finisher at NAIA XC

VANCOUVER, Wash. — Carroll College junior Samantha Mundel (Columbia Falls) finished 38th overall, just missing out on all-American status as the Saints women finished 17th at the NAIA cross country championships.

Mundel finished in 18:28 as the second placer for the Saints.

Bailey Smith (Glacier) finished 188th overall running for Dickinson State (North Dakota), the third placer for the Blue Hawks.
